During the NBBTP application review and rating process, the NBBTP selection committee rates and ranks NBBTP candidates using a three-phase structured assessment process. The first phase is based on the candidate’s application, references, essay, official transcripts and supplemental material. After the initial review process, quarter finalists are invited for a phone-interview. Upon completion of the phone interview phase, semifinalists are invited to participate in a structured assessment on site at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, MD. Fellowship offers are conditional, pending verification of authenticity of application materials, official transcripts, and the applicant's ability to meet Federal guidelines for working with select agents.
